Had a few too many drinks over the weekend? You’re probably not alone.
Whether it’s Dutch courage you’re after or just something to do with your nervous hands, drinks has long been a major part of facing a surviving first dates.
More often than not first dates are held over dinner or drinks, with a few beers or a bottle of wine to get the conversation moving.
Girls and guys may not always agree, but it seems that that they on the same page when it comes to drinking alcohol when meeting face-to-face for the first time. A recent survey* among Oasis users showed that 58% of women and 59% of men think it’s okay to drink on a first date.
It seems the girls have more of a thirst for a tipple, as 52% of women and 49% of men admitted that they think it’s reasonable to have between one to three drinks in a sitting.
Some people take it further, with 6% of women and 10% of men confessing that they often have more than three drinks when they are having a good time.
The good news is, dry dates are also perfectly acceptable, as 41% of men and 42% of women prefer to stay sober on a first date.
When deciding when and how much to drink on a date it’s always a good idea to think about what you’re hoping to get out of it. If you’re wanting to get to know the other person and put your best and most food forward, it’s wise to keep count, pace yourself and be sure to keep your drink in sight at all times. No one wants to be a drunk date disaster!
